Avid 13mm Precision Carpet ‘Batch 2’ Springs

New from Avid Racing Concepts comes their 13mm Precision ‘Batch 2’ Springs. These new additions will be used on high grip office carpet, or heavier vehicles like stadium trucks. The Avid Springs are specifically designed for carpet racing by having stiffer rates and shorter lengths – this allowing you to get to your low ride heights easily. The springs are left raw so the spring rate and action of the spring is not compromised from any extra chemical processes, just like Avid’s famous springs that they released in 2013!

VP-Pro Universal 1:8 Buggy Body

Chinese tyre and accessories manufacturer VP-Pro, who recently announced the signing of leading offroad racer Berkan Kilic, has release this universal body shell for 1:8 Buggy. Its design features an integrated shark fin on the cab and helps add stability and increases high speed handling. It’s low-slung design also features a laid-back windshield and long centre fin for better stability and side bite. Made from high-quality clear polycarbonate with protective film and available in lightweight 0.8mm thickness, the body comes with window masks for painting and official VP-Pro decals.

Team Cayote adds Bayer to team line-up

Team Cayote has added reigning European 2WD Buggy Champion Martin Bayer to its team line-up. A driver who has played a key role in the launch of successful Czech ESC manufacturer Elceram, the head of offroad car design at Xray will use motors and batteries from the Cayote having previously represent Sunpadow batteries. On the announcement, the Czech driver said, ‘I’m proud to officially join Team Cayote as a team driver! In my cars, I will be using Cayote motors and batteries, and I must say their performance and quality truly impressed me. Reliability, consistency, and power — exactly what is needed at the highest racing level. Revive RC Cougar LD3 ‘Hunter’ Low Profile body

With Schumacher Racing adding body shell producer Revive RC to its product line, they have shared images of the special Low Profile ‘Hunter’ body for its Cougar LD3 1:10 2WD buggy. Key Design Features of the body include a low, smooth profile which is designed to keep the centre of gravity down while allowing space around the motor for additional fans and electronics. The final design is over 2 grams lighter than the stock body. A sculpted section behind the cab creates a rear airflow deflector that channels air upward onto the wing, improving stability. At the rear of the deflector are also three optional 5mm diameter cut-outs to help vent residual motor heat rather than side air intakes. With a purpose-built rear wing that measures 160mm wide, 65mm chord, 40mm high, the front centre follows the LD3 shock tower’s “V” profile to capture airflow that normally passes through. Multiple 5mm incremental cut lines at the rear providing tuning options.

Smith & Stafford win at EssexCarpetClash Rd4

The fourth encounter of the 6 round EssexCarpetClash took place last weekend in the UK where Round 3 double winner Ben Smith & his Schumacher took the 2WD while the Team Associated of Ellis Stafford took the 4WD honours. For many it was the first race of the year, with a few looking forward to trying their new equipment they had received from Christmas, with the organisers creating a flowing track with a double jump section and dog leg table top would challenge the drivers. In 2WD it seemed to be a battle between Smith and Harley Eldridge for the entire day. Both managed to top the qualifying sheets twice so it came down to the fastest time which was Smith. Next to line up on the grid for third and fourth would be a fight between Aaron Nash and Oliver Nattress, again joint on points with Nash having the faster time. Alfie Castle would get to grips with the track after round one putting in some decent times with Billy Fletcher having a very consistent day. The finals would be a continuation of qualifying and would be a fight on track between Smith and Eldridge. Smith was able to wrap up the day with two leg wins with Eldridge consistently finishing in the top three. Aaron Nash was able to secure the bottom step of the podium with two decent leg finishes.

Duraes joins Boots at GRP Tyres

Following the major announcement of top 1:8 Offroad racer Elliott Boots as their first factory supported driver for 2026, GRP Tyres continues to finalise its team line-up with the announcement of new Hong Nor signing Carlos Duraes. The Portuguese driver will now officially represent the Italian tyre manufacturer using their Ai-TECH 1:8 Buggy Tyre Ranged which it introduced last May. Team Associated RC10B7.1 Team Kit

After numerous 1:10 2WD Buggy re-releases, Team Associated is kicking off 2026 with something modern & new for racers with the announcement of the RC10B7.1 Team Kit. The RC10B7.1 Team Kits boast the new long-arm suspension geometry, weight-centralised electronics layout, KPI adjustable steering blocks, and increased tunability throughout the whole chassis. These innovations have increased the potential for grip and corner speed and an overall smoother drive feel. As will previous RC10 2WD buggies, Associated offer a Dirt version in the RC10B7.1D and with fully interchangeable parts between the two kits this allows the user to pick and choose what configuration they want to use depending on track conditions.
