Champlin crowned double INS15 Champion with Finals clean sweep

Newly crowned 1:10 2WD Buggy World Champion Broc Champlin is the double Champion of the JConcept INS15, the Schumacher driver capping off the popular 1:10  Offroad series with a clean sweep at the season Final held at Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in Indiana over the weekend.  While Champlin had already secured the 2WD title ahead of the fifth & final stop on the calendar, he was looking to replace his P5 from Round 1 of the series held at at Trackside Hobbies in Wisconsin.  In 2WD qualifying it was Team Associated’s Davey Batta who took the opening round but the World Championship podium finisher who end up P2 on the grid as Champlin topped Q2 & 3.  Xray’s Chase Lemieux and Dakotah Phend completed the Top 4.  In 4WD it was again Champlin who secured the TQ over Batta with Brennan Schimmel third ahead of Aydin Horne.  In the triple finals, Champlin would wrap up both victories as he went two from two in A2.  Winning A3 of 2WD, Batta secured second as Phend completed the podium while in 4WD Phend took 2nd despite Horne winning A3, the Team Associated driver completed the podium.

O.S. Speed B21 ‘Adam Drake’ AD4 .21 Offroad Engine

O.S. Engines has announced their latest engine collaboration with 1:8 Offroad legend Adam Drake, O.S. Speed B21 Adam Drake 4.   The .21 1:8 Offroad engines features a number of redesigned parts specific to Drake’s spec for better balance, more torque and more power for better driving performance.   The AD4 gets a newly designed cylinder liner uses 3 port design which changes the exhaust dimension for more torque.  They have also changed the crankshaft’s inner diameter for better response in low to middle range.  A new outer head has double anodised black and blue with new laser design and at same time lighter and better balance compared to the previous model.  The inner head’s combustion chamber has been redesigned for improved combustion efficiency, resulting in more torque.  The AD4 comes with φ6II and φ8 blue anodised venturis.

Team Associated RC10 4WD Team Car Kit

Having only released the first RC10 4WD Buggy earlier this year, Team Associated has announced the release of the updated RC10 4WD Team Car Kit.  The latest RC10 release features a distinct chassis colour change from gold to black anodised 6061-T6 aluminium monocoque tub as well as a number of component updates.  The Team Car Kit gets a new updated belt guide, a new updated chassis stiffener system, new thumb ball nuts allow for easy battery access, a new taller pulley guides.  To match the chassis there is a black anodised nose plate and motor plate.  There is also updated bleeder shock caps.  The updated kit includes a clear polycarbonate Viper body, 5.5” high-downforce wing, full ball bearings, CVA driveshafts, and vintage front and rear 4WD spike tyres.

Schumacher Winter Series Round 1 – Report

Back for its seventh season, the 2025/26 Schumacher Winter Series presented by UK Club Louth Radio Control Car Club kicked off over the weekend with Chris Lovely taking the win.  With defending champion Tim Wood missing the opening round, there was an opportunity for his competitors to get a head-start.  In qualifying it was Lovely who secured the TQ with his Xray, ahead of the Awesomatix of Andrew Twigger with the rest of the top six made of the Associated of Gareth Jaime, the Mugen Seiki of Jay Kay, the Schumacher of Matthew Heath and the second Mugen Seiki of Andrew Babb.  Lovely remain in control for the final, taking a tone to flag victory to take home the maximum points.  Twigger would come home 2nd having put on immense pressure all final, with the fight for the final podium position being the most intense on track action. Jay Kay, Heath and Jaines would be locked together most the race, and only in the latter stages would it become a two horse race decided in the remaining laps. With Jay Kay securing the final podium position, ahead of Heath, Jaines and Babb.
